What is paronychia?
Paronychia is inflammation of the nail that can be caused by irritation or infection. It can occur when bacteria invade broken skin near the cuticle and nail fold, causing infection. Germs and bacteria tend to cause sudden-onset (acute) paronychia, which is painful. Yeast and molds can also cause nail infections. Nails can become brittle and dry as we age. Cracks in the nails allow fungi to enter. As the fungal infection deepens, nail fungus can cause your nail to change color, thicken, and crumble at the edges.

Undecylenic acid – Undecylenic acid is an unsaturated fatty acid that works by preventing the growth of fungus.
